KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Investigators with the Kansas City Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a homicide in the southeast part of the city.

They were called to an area near East 91st Street and Old Santa Fe Road before 11 a.m. after someone reported a body. Investigators said the victim is a woman.

It is in a relatively unpopulated area. There are a couple of homes on one side of the street but fields on the other.

Crime scene technicians are on scene gathering evidence as officers look for additional information.
