KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Police were called to 31st and Prospect in Kansas City, Mo., Thursday afternoon on reports that three people had been shot on an ATA bus.

A Kansas City Police Department dispatcher said initial reports were that the shooting happened on the bus and that there were two or three victims.

However, FOX 4 has since been told that the gunfire came from outside the bus, through a window. One person was reportedly hit in the hand. The other two people were hit by glass. All their injuries are considered non-life threatening.

FOX 4's Charly Arnolt is at the scene. She reported that there was a small disturbance on the bus and after a suspect exited he fired shots through a bus window. She said police are searching for a black, male suspect with dreadlocks wearing blue shorts. They believe he is on foot after fleeing the scene.

FOX 4's Eric Burke is reporting that KCPD tactical teams are checking a home in the area where the suspect may be hiding. He also reports that police may be looking for an additional female suspect
