KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Repairs are underway at a local cell phone store, after a driver steered his car through the store's back wall early Tuesday morning.

The owner of the store tells FOX 4 around 1:45 a.m., the driver was heading west on Parallel Parkway when he lost control and crashed through the wall of the Metro PCS store that sits on Parallel Parkway in a median, where the road splits near 47th Street.

The owner tells FOX 4 the driver went over the curb, through the grass, over another two curbs before crashing into the store.

The owner believes the driver didn't even try to stop because the car destroyed an electric box and gashed pipes inside the store, which caused flooding. More than 150 phones inside the store were damaged from the water.

According to the store's owner, police arrested the driver.

The owner of the store says he's not sure if the driver fell asleep or was under the influence. He also said he hopes to reopen the store by the end of the week, though there is a lot of damage to clean up.
