PBS is hinting that educational game show "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" may be returning to television.

Last Friday, the public broadcaster hinted at the prospect, posting a photo of the character's red fedora and black gloves.  A further comment suggested that the network was planning to rebroadcast the 1991-1996 series, rather than produce new episodes.  A Tweet from an official @CarmenSandiego seems to back this up:

The series featured comedian Greg Lee and actress Lynne Thigpen, along with young contestants, trying to track down the fictional criminal mastermind Sandiego and her band of henchmen.  The show earned a Peabody award and was named by TV Guide as one of the 50 greatest game shows of all time.
