KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A character in the FOX television drama 'Empire' is making a mark in the fashion world. Taraji P. Henson, who plays Cookie Lyon, has taken her position and turned her character into a style-icon for women all over.

"She is every woman," the show's costume designer Rita McGhee told USA Today."She wears a suit, but it's a leopard suit and she wears it with some thigh-high boots. She owns the armor of her fashion. How shes feels inside matches her outside."

Kansas City fashion designer Whitney Manney says Cookie's wardrobe is sweet and it's making women all over the US want to emulate her style.

Manney says Cookie's ability to mix bold print with leather is something every woman can incorporate into their wardrobe.

"When you see them in the boardroom she'll walk in and everyone's in solids and really nice office appropriate wear and she'll walk in and fill leopard prints, four inch heels and leather and furs," said Manney.

Manney says Henson's character blurs the lines between what's appropriate for daytime and night time attire.

To see some of Cookie's fashions in action before it's too late, be sure to watch FOX the season finale of "Empire" Wednesday on FOX from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
