Russ Simmons lists his worst movies of 2014:

  1. A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST (R)

Universal

There are a million ways to fail in comedy and Seth McFarland found them all in this “Blazing Saddles” wannabe. The stars wanted to work with McFarland in the worst way...and they succeeded.

  1. THE PURGE: ANARCHY(R)

Universal

File this under "Bloody Death as Entertainment." On day a year, murder is legal. The people who foisted this ugly horror flick on us are the ones who deserved to be purged.

  1. THE INTERVIEW (R)

Sony Pictures

The controversial comedy isn’t bad because it’s in gleefully bad taste. It’s bad because there’s very little that's funny after the initial scene. For a better, genuinely funny vulgar movie about North Korea, try "Team America."

  1. SABOTAGE (R)

Open Road Films

He said, "I'll be back," but he's not back in form. Arnold Schwarzzenegger’s darkest and most violent thriller sabotaged itself when it ratcheted up the blood and guts.

  1. TUSK (R)

A24 Films

Kevin Smith’s awful horror comedy is a total miscalculation. A famous, uncredited star plays one of the roles under heavy makeup. Maybe he was embarrassed to be a part of this debacle. In spite of an intriguing performance from Michael Parks, “Tusk” bites.
