KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Walking home, playing outside was never a problem for Martin Garcia until now. On his way back from a friend’s house, he crossed paths with a group of neighborhood boys.

“They came up to me and told me to give them everything I got. I was confused for a second. One dude came and hit me in the face with a gun,” said Martin Garcia.

Garcia said he was grabbed by the neck, shoved against a fence and then pistol whipped.

The attackers robbed him of his Xbox video game and controller worth $40. This happened a month ago. Mom, Rosy Caballero, fears for the life of her eight children.

“My kids [are] my life,” she said.

Shortly after the attack, reports show Caballero’s cars were sprayed with bullets in a drive-by shooting. She counted nearly a dozen bullet holes, and two more aimed at the house. She said her oldest son was nearly shot.

“All my kids are good kids. I never had any problems,” Caballero said.

She said she hopes police can make arrest soon, before she is forced to relocate to protect her family.

Caballero said her family lives in constant fear, and that’s no way to live.
