KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It’s been one month since the Allen family’s had beds to sleep in, but that will end on Tuesday night.

“Right now, everything is getting back to normal. I’m totally grateful,” said Antoinette Allen as she wiped away her tears.

After a fire destroyed her home, her family was forced to start over in another house. For the past month, she, her husband, and six kids have been sleeping on the floor.  Mattress Firm put an end to that with a donation of seven beds after hearing about the family's story on FOX 4. The generosity totaled $3,500.

“If we can provide a sleep solution , that’s why we’re here,” Rachel Joslyn of Mattress Firm said.

It all started because of the family dog, Gooch. The Rescue Project first stopped to help the Allen family’s dog, but it didn’t stop there. The group started a donation drive. The help kept pouring in and hasn’t stopped.

Now Antoinette can sleep well, knowing her children are sleeping in their own beds tonight.
