OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – It is a birth date that's hard to overlook. For one family from Cass County, Christmas day will forever be the birthday of their second child, who was born on Wednesday in Overland Park, Kan.

The Barnard family welcomed a new arrival on Christmas morning. Little Aiden Scott Barnard was born at 9:37 a.m. on Wednesday, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. His mother, Anita Barnard, and her husband, Scott, couldn’t have been more thrilled.

Barnard said she had been watching the calendar, and as Christmas drew closer she said she realized her little one might arrive on the special day.

“I always thought he would come way before Christmas. This is our second baby and the first one came a week early. I was ready to have him any time after Thanksgiving, and every week I was telling myself, 'It's going to be this week. It's going to be this week,'” said Barnard.

The nursing staff at Overland Park Regional dressed little Aiden in a Christmas stocking for the festive occasion.
