Fans Line Up for Royals Tickets

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Opening day at the K is approaching. Single game Royals tickets went on sale on Saturday morning.

Tickets went on sale around 10 a.m. Fans lined up at Kauffman Stadium to get seats for opening day and beyond.

"It's pretty busy out here," said baseball fan Tyler Wigger. "It's kind of cold, but I'm excited for the year."

Many fans say they're excited for the upcoming season.

"I'm excited about the Royals this year," said fan Freeman Light. "We have a lot of young players and I just think they'll be good this year!"

The Royals opened the store and the Diamond Club early so fans could stay warm while they waited. Along with the interest in the young team, there's also a lot of buzz about the All Star Game coming to Kansas city.

"It's extremely exciting this year!" said Steve Shiffman, Senior Director of Ticket Sales. "We have huge expectations for full houses during the year."

Fans who lined up for tickets on Saturday say they're mission is accomplished. They just hope the Royals will deliver on the field.
