PARKVILLE, Mo. — A FedEx worker who died after being pinned by his delivery vehicle on Friday has been identified as 52-year-old Charles L. Sims.

According to police, Sims’ truck pinned him against a house. He was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The investigation into the accident has revealed that a possible defect with the braking system may be a probable contributing factor in the accident.

FedEx said in a written statement that its “heartfelt thoughts and condolences” were with the friends and family of the driver. The company said it was cooperating with authorities.
