KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Ambulances rushed to the scene of an accident involving a fire truck and a car Monday afternoon at 63rd and Prospect.

One person was taken to the hospital by ambulance after they were extricated from the vehicle.

At first, FOX 4 was told the injuries were not life-threatening, but a KCMO police spokesperson said they were.

Kansas City Police Sgt. Bill Mahoney said police were trying to determine who was to blame for the crash.  The fire truck was on its way to a call when it turned at the intersection of 63rd and Prospect.
