Police identify woman found in burning KCK home

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Police have identified the woman found dead inside a burning home on Monday in Kansas City, Kan., as Latisha M. Hare, 22.

Police said Hare’s body was discovered by firefighters who were called to a vacant house fire in the 1300 block of Kansas Avenue around 2 a.m.

Firefighters said there were signs of a homicide. Police are not sure if Hare was killed in the house or another location. Authorities believe someone may have started the fire to destroy any evidence.
