NEAR SUGAR CREEK, Mo. —  Authorities have not released a victim’s name after a  group of fishermen made a shocking discovery Saturday when they found a body in the Missouri River near Sugar Creek off of 291 Highway at Labenite Park.

The group with the Missouri Hunter Education Association says they were out trying to find bait around 12 Noon, when they went around a dock and found the body.

The Missouri Highway Patrol called in their boats to help recover the body.  FOX 4 News has learned that the body is a man who had no forms of identification on his person.

“We hear about it and are usually within a few miles of where we have been.  This is the first time we came across it like this, it has been so pretty tough,” said Michael Mansell, one of the people who found the body.

Sugar Creek Police are handling the investigation.

Back in March, a father and daughter jumped off the Bond Bridge and their bodies have not been recovered.  So far, police have not said if the body found Saturday was connected with that case.
