Five injured, including teens, in rollover crash at 79th and Oldham

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Five people were injured in a Monday rollover crash in south Kansas City.

Officers responded to a one vehicle crash near E 79th Street and Oldham Road Monday afternoon around 4:30 p.m.

According to investigators a 17-year-old girl  was driving a white Hyundai  north on Oldham Road at a high rate of speed when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a large utility pole.

The Hyundai then came back on the roadway, overturned and landed on its roof.

The driver and an 11-year-old passenger suffered serious injuries. A 15-year-old passenger in the car was taken to the hospital in critical condition and two other 15-year-olds in the backseat suffered moderate injuries.

According to investigators, none of the people in the care were wearing seatbelts. They were all transported to the hospital.
