KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Hundreds are still without power Monday afternoon as a result of Friday’s storm.

Local power companies have brought in workers from nearby cities to help tackle the large outage.

BPU brought in crews from Springfield and Joplin.  BPU says the final outages are single outages, which means that with each fix, only one customer’s power is restored. As of Monday around noon 600 of their customers still did not have power.

KCP&L brought in crews from Iowa and St. Louis. KCP&L said they expect most of the 879 customers who are without power to have their power restored by the end of Monday.

IP&L were still working to restore power to 114 customers as of Monday afternoon.
