KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- When an elderly widow never received the 14 windows she'd paid a contractor to install, she called FOX 4 Problem Solvers wanting to warn others. What she never expected was that another company would come to her rescue.

When FOX 4 Problem Solvers first met Carol Morris she was in desperate need of help. A remodeling company had taken $2800 from her with the promise it would install 14 windows in her grandson's home. But the company, Fisher Remodeling, never did the work and never returned her money, earning a spot in the FOX 4 Problem Solver Hall of Shame.

As soon as FOX 4 Problem Solvers shared Mrs. Morris’ story, we heard from Tom Herndon, a manger of Window World. Herndon told us Window World wanted to help Mrs. Morris get the windows she needed at no charge.

A month later, her grandson's home was a house in transformation as a crew from Window World tore out the old troubled windows and put in new ones.

"Not everybody has the best business practices or ethics and we decided that once we saw that Mrs. Morris was taken by the last contractor we decided to step in and help her out," Herndon said as he watched the progress on her home.

"She's a very sweet lady,” said Herndon, referring to Mrs. Morris." I'm really looking forward to seeing her expression once she sees these windows."

Mrs. Morris didn't disappoint. She was almost speechless as she watched the new windows being installed.

"This is beautiful,” she said, adding that she had no idea her grandson's home could look this good.
