KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kansas City Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt announced on Saturday that Gary Barbaro will be the 2013 inductee into the Chiefs Hall of Fame. The 43rd member of this prestigious group will be honored at the 101 Awards Banquet in downtown Kansas City. Barbaro will be enshrined into the Chiefs Hall of Fame officially during festivities at Chiefs Alumni Weekend this fall at Arrowhead Stadium.

“On behalf of my family and the entire Chiefs organization, it is an honor to announce Gary Barbaro’s election into the Chiefs Hall of Fame,” Hunt said. “Gary had a remarkable playing career. He was a leader and a ball hawk who posted impressive numbers in his seven seasons with the Chiefs that classify him as one of the finest defensive backs in Chiefs history.”

Barbaro spent his entire seven-year playing career with the Chiefs (1976-82), starting in all 101 contests he played in after joining the club in the third round of the 1976 NFL Draft (74th overall). He holds the team record for most consecutive starts to begin a career.
