FOLSOM, Calif. -- A small California group has big dreams of helping our troops stationed away from home.
Volunteers pack care package for the troops. Each box gets the right amount of food items or toiletries, books and/or movies, but this small group is delivering so much more.
"We read every single one of these letters and you want to do something for them," Denise Silverling said.
Something personal, something genuine from home. On one occasion a soldier asked for gummy bears, and got a box filled with the sugary treats.
The group, called Support for Soldiers, hopes to send 1,000 parcels this Christmas at a cost of $14,000 in shipping alone. That's why they are still looking for monetary donations.
