KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Henry W. and Marion Bloch sculpture was introduced Tuesday morning, along with the new Bloch Executive Hall, a long-time goal and dream of Henry Bloch, 91.
Eugene Daub, a nationally-celebrated sculptor, created the 8-feet tall sculpture, which stands at 5108 Cherry.
A news release from UMKC said, "With the aid of numerous photographs of the couple, he captured the couple in their 60s as they were seen by their children-- 'always touching each other.'"
The sculpture is part of the celebration of the new $32 million, 68,000 square foot Bloch Executive Hall, which opened for classes on August 19. It houses Bloch School's graduate, executive and entrepreneurship programs, as well as undergraduate classes.
The facility is a gift from Henry W. Bloch, who wanted to help accommodate UMKC's growing student population.
