KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are looking for the car and the driver who hit a man crossing the street at Independence Ave. and Paseo Friday morning at about 6:30.

Police say the man was crossing Independence Ave. just east of Paseo when a dark-colored car hit him and left the scene, heading westbound.

A man, whom police want to question, arrived at the scene a short time after the collision, but before police arrived. He appeared to be trying to help the victim. He picked up a broken mirror and left the scene.

Police described him as a man in his 30’s with blond hair and wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt and jeans.
