GLENDALE, Mo. — In a news conference late Tuesday afternoon, investigators with the St. Louis Major Case Squad said the husband and father of the woman and children found dead in their home late Monday morning was not a suspect at the time.

Mitchell Murch II, called 911 Monday at about 11:00 a.m. to report he heard gunshots at his home. A few minutes later he called again to say his wife shot their two children and herself.

The 9-year-old daughter, Mary Claire Murch, was found shot upstairs. Both children were rushed to area hospitals where they were pronounced dead.
