Independence police say missing 28-year-old man with autism found safe

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — Independence police say they have located a missing 28-year-old man with autism Tuesday evening.

Police say Daniel Gutridge was located safe and is being reunited with his family.

Gutridge, who has autism and is non-verbal, was reported missing by police Tuesday afternoon.

Police said Gutridge has done this before and was located a previous time walking down railroad tracks.
