Jackson County, Mo. jury finds man guilty of 2009 murder

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- A Jackson County jury on Friday evening found Diamond D. Blair guilty of 2009 murder of Montague Kevin Ashline.

Ashline was killed on June 24, 2009 outside the Alps Apartments located at 36th and Baltimore.

In addition to finding Blair guilty of Ashline's murder in the second degree, the jury also found him guilty of robbery in the first degree and guilty on two counts of armed criminal action.

Blair has been serving time in a federal penitentiary on a felon-in-possession conviction.
