OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — A local charity is working out of a new location to give needy Johnson County families a Merry Christmas.
The Johnson County Christmas Bureau has set up shop inside the Metcalf South mall in Overland Park. They have filled the empty storefronts with donated clothing and toys that more than 3,500 Johnson County families living in poverty will be able to take home with them for Christmas.
“To be able to come to a place like this and to be able to shop for their children, to have food for the holidays and maybe get a gift for themselves is something that they can’t even imagine happening otherwise,” Mary Anne Murray-Simons with Johnson County Christmas Bureau told FOX 4.
