OLATHE, Kan. — The Johnson County Fire Department rescued a man on Friday who was trapped in an 18-foot trench.

According to fire officials, the man was knocked into the trench near 103rd Terrace and  West Valley Parkway at 11:09 a.m.

It appears the man was working in a construction zone when he was knocked into the trench by a backhoe.

FOX 4’s crew on the scene reports that the man is okay.
