KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A child died in what police say appears to be an accidental shooting Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to the shooting near East 45th Street and Agnes Avenue shortly before 9 a.m.

First responders say a child between the age of 10 and 15 years old was critically injured in the shooting. The child later died at a hospital.

Police say the victim was the only one involved in the shooting.
