KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Wednesday night, May 20.
Police and medical personnel responded just after 8:30 p.m. to 51st and Cleveland Avenue. They found that a brown Ford Taurus was heading north when it struck the individual, according to the Kansas City Police Department.
The driver told police the person crossed the road in front of her and she didn’t have time to stop, KCPD stated. It was raining at the time of the incident.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released at this time.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
