KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating after a 61-year-old woman was killed following a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night.

The incident was reported just after 7 p.m.

Police said the woman was crossing Troost Avenue near 81st Street, east to west, when she was struck by a person driving northbound. The driver of the vehicle then left the scene.

The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
