KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Officers are at the scene of a deadly shooting where police say one person was killed on Thursday afternoon in the area of Armour and Troost.

Family members tell FOX 4’s Shayla Patrick that the victim was just 18-years old. He was leaving Thursday evening to go to Missouri State University in Springfield. They say he was in the area getting a haircut.

At about 2:45 p.m., police were called out and found the young man dead inside a car.  Police believe the suspects and victim exchanged gunfire. They say they found a weapon at the scene.

Police are still looking for the two suspects. They believe one was hurt.

“He was on his way to college tomorrow. He’s a good guy, a good fellow. He was just coming to get a haircut and I don’t know what else happened,” said Floyd Williams, the victim’s uncle.

Officers searched an apartment building at that location.

This is the 92nd homicide of the year, and is the third in three days.
