KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating a shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries.

It happened around 8 p.m. Wednesday near E 17th and and Oakland Avenue on the city’s far east side.

Police were called to the scene on a shooting and found one man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The suspect allegedly stole the man’s truck and drove away.

The next day, police said they found the red truck. When they tried to stop it, the driver led them on a high-speed chase, resulting in a crash.

The driver was taken into custody. No other information is available at this time.
