KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A Kansas mother pleaded guilty on Tuesday for forging documents to take her children to Europe.

Samantha Elmer, 33, pleaded guilty to identity theft. She admitted to forging her husband's signature on a document that gave her consent to get passports for her daughters to take them overseas.

Her sentencing date hasn’t been set yet. She faces up to two years in prison, and a fine of up to $250,000.
