KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- There was a galactic shift near Zona Rosa Saturday as good and evil joined forces to help the animals at the KC Pet Project find new homes.

Characters from the Empire and the Rebel Alliance put aside their differences for the third annual Star Wars Day.

It turns out there is one thing both sides have in common: their love for animals.  Some have even adopted from shelters.

As part of Star Wars day, KC Pet Project has an adoption special going on through the weekend.  Right now it's just 40 dollars to adopt most dogs and 25 dollars for cats.  You can visit KCPetProject.org to take a look at some of the animals that need homes.

One local Jedi got a chance to interview the bad guys for a good cause. Needless to say, they didn't quite see eye-to-eye.
