KC police investigate homicide after victim crashes into yard near 29th and Indiana


UPDATE: The victim in this shooting has been identified as 38-year-old Charles Blakey, police say.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police are investigating a homicide Tuesday evening.

According to police, a caller reported a car crash near 29th and Indiana, saying the drive had crashed into a home in the area.

When police and medics arrived, they discovered a man inside the car and he was pronounced deceased. KCPD spokeswoman Donna Drake said the victim has injuries “believed to be suspicious,” and they are investigating this case as a homicide.
