KANSAS CITY, Mo. — On Saturday afternoon the Kansas City Fire Department responded to a fire near the 4500 block of Prospect.
When responders arrived there was heavy smoke and fire coming from the north side of an abandoned commercial building. KCFD said that the building had been vacant for some time.
When responders were fighting the fire, Prospect Avenue was closed near the scene.
No injuries were reported and the investigation is ongoing.
