KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A group of students from Kansas City, Kansas can now add author to their list of credits. The students are from Turner High School.

On Saturday, they read a few selections from If Ever the World to celebrate their accomplishment. The students are part of a poetry club. They feel like it's more than a club. It's a pathway to success.

"I mean, I feel like if I put something like that on an application to a journalism school, I feel like that's going to have a good weigh in through getting into school and succeeding," Katie Dougherty, poetry club member.

The book was published by Red Hen and sells for $12.
