KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Kansas City, Kan., police arrested but later released two people after questioning them about the deadly stabbing of a woman at a home near Mill Street and Miami Avenue last week.
Police chief Terry Zeigler tweeted about the arrest at 10:05 a.m. Tuesday, but officer Tom Tomasic later issued a news release that said the two had been released after questioning and no charges are pending.
“The detectives on the case have conducted a tireless investigation into this case which led to two persons of interest being identified and detained. Following the interviews, they were both released,” officer Tomasic said.
When police officers arrived at the KCK home Thursday, Jan. 18, they found the woman, 32-year-old Megan N. Hernandez, dead on the front porch from stab wounds.
