KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools board voted in favor of creating a committee to look into and determine any school names or mascots that are offensive to others.

The elected committee will look at 28 elementary schools, seven middle schools and four high schools to determine any needed changes.

Within the last year, the Shawnee Mission School District announced mascot changes for four elementary schools and one high school.
