KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City Missouri Police officer was injured in a collision with a school bus on the city’s East Side on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the female officer was en route to a disturbance call in the 4300 block of Indiana with her lights and sirens on. The driver of a school bus headed to Border Star Montessori apparently did not hear the officer’s sirens and T-boned the police cruiser near Emmanuel Cleaver Boulevard and Leeds around 6:40 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The officer was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She is expected to be okay.

The accident remains under investigation.
