LAWRENCE, Kan. — A jury found a 47-year-old Lawrence man guilty Thursday for multiple sexual assault incidents involving children.

Timothy Glen Martins was convicted on four counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

According to the district attorney’s office, Martins engaged in sexual conduct with female children in his care and living in his home between 2012 and 2017.

The Carbondale Police Department, Lawrence police’s Special Victims Unit, and the Kansas Department for Children and Families investigated the case.

“These brave survivors of sexual assault made their voices heard,” Douglas County District Attorney Valdez said. “Today, they finally got to see the perpetrator held accountable for these heinous acts.”

Martins is scheduled for sentencing on June 23 at the Douglas County Courthouse.

He faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison, with no possibility for parole for 25 years.
