Lee’s Summit School District announces interim superintendent

LEE’S SUMMIT, Mo. — Lee’s Summit School District announced on Tuesday that they have hired a new superintendent.

Dr. David Brenson will serves at the district’s interim superintendent. Dr. Brenson has worked for several schools in Iowa ans Kansas including Blue Valley School District.

Dr. Brenson replaces David McGehee who resigned in June. McGehee had been criticized for his handing of school contracts and dating an attorney who worked for a law firm that once represented the district.

McGehee was also the highest paid superintendent in the state of Missouri.

Brenson will fill in for the rest of the school year as the school board continues its search for a permanent leader.
