LENEXA, Kan. — Johnson County officials say crews have recovered a man’s body from Shawnee Mission Lake on Monday.
Johnson County Park police and Lenexa police and fire responded to the lake, near the Shawnee Mission dog park, just before 10:30 a.m. Monday.
One person reported that a 21-year-old man went onto the ice on the lake and fell through. Police are not sure why the man was out on the ice at this time.
Rescue crews spent several hours Monday searching the water for the man.
Around 3:15 p.m., officials said crews recovered a body and pulled it from the lake. Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.
