LIBERTY, Mo. -- The holiday celebrations began early Thursday in Liberty and they're not going to stop until after the sun goes down.

A lot of people came out for the annual Liberty Fourth Fest parade.

They followed it up with plenty of music and the reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Festivities cap Thursday evening with a concert and fireworks show at William Jewell College.
