HOLT, Mo. — A fire at a home in Holt, Mo., appears to have started with a lightning strike. The home on Nation Road will require about four to six months of repair and remodel. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the fire.

Earlier in the night, the storm caused a more familiar kind of damage. In unincorporated Clay County, heavy rains caused mud and debris to cover the highway. The slippery mess caused three accidents and forced cars off the road.

Sheriff deputies kept the stretch of ‘A’ Highway closed from 92-Highway to 144th Street.
