OTTAWA COUNTY, Kan. — At least two homes in Ottawa County, Kan., were damaged Tuesday evening by a tornado, the Salina Journal reported.
A machine shop and some power lines were also knocked down, the paper reported.
The tornado formed around 5:45 p.m. west of Bennington, Kan., and U.S. Highway 81, the National Weather Service said.
“From its appearances, it was a very large, powerful tornado,” a NWS meteorologist said.
