SANDUSKY, Ohio — A 19-year-old man is behind bars after police say he stabbed an 11-week-old baby multiple times Thursday night. The infant was rushed to the hospital where she later died.
Police said Denzel Castile will likely face murder charges. He has already been charged with assaulting a police officer and felonious assault.
According to authorities, when police were called to the scene late Thursday night, they found multiple people fighting on the ground. Inside the home, police discovered the infant suffering from multiple lacerations consistent with stab wounds. An autopsy will be performed Friday.
Sandusky Police Chief John Orzech said Castile is not the baby’s father, but would not elaborate any further on their relationship.
