KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A man is dead following an accident late Sunday night. Police said a driver was headed the wrong direction on southbound Interstate 435 near the Cookingham exit  when he hit a truck head on just before midnight.

The driver was in a white jeep and hit a Time Warner truck. The Time Warner truck caught fire as a result of the impact, according to police.

Police said a semi then hit the jeep. The driver of the jeep died on impact, according to police. The victim's name has not yet been released.

Police said the drivers of the Time Warner truck and semi were not injured.

Police said the Time Warner truck was carrying television equipment back from Omaha, where it had been for the KU-Wichita State basketball game Sunday. A lot of the equipment inside was destroyed.
