KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police are investigating after a man was found dead on a street corner early Thursday morning.
According to police, two people were walking near 6th and Myrtle around 12:45 a.m., when they saw the victim laying face-up in the corner. The two told police that they initially thought the victim was over intoxicated, which is what led them to call police and an ambulance.
When officers and EMS crews arrived they pronounced the victim dead.
Responding officers say the victims appears to have been shot. They were not sure how many times or where.
Investigators say there were no “shots fired” calls.
Police have questioned the two people but say they are not suspects.
The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Police describe the victim as a white male in his 40s.
Officers are not sure how long the man was on the corner.
