KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Wichita man died from his injuries after being hit by two vehicles outside of Arrowhead Stadium Sunday night.

Police said 66-year-old Steven Hickle was crossing Blue Ridge Cutoff from west to east leaving the stadium around 10:11 p.m. Investigators said he was hit by a southbound vehicle that fled the scene without stopping.

Hickle was then run over by a second southbound vehicle while laying in the roadway. That vehicle also left the scene.

Hickle was taken to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries. He was accompanied by another pedestrian who was not injured in either hit-and-run.

Police said the two were leaving the game early near gate 2, and traffic crews were not in place yet to handle fans leaving the stadium.

The vehicles involved have not been located at this time, but police said they do have pieces of a side mirror and a turn signal light. Investigators said they believe the debris came from one of the cars that hit the victim.

Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas shares his condolences on Twitter.
