UPDATE: Police ID man killed after shooting near 41st and Monroe in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man has died Tuesday after a shooting in Kansas City, police say.

Police were called to the shooting at 41st Street and Monroe Avenue at about 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found a man with no signs of life, police said.

Initially the victim was listed in critical condition, but police said shortly after the shooting, the man died from his injuries. The man was later identified as 22-year-old Caprice Hardy of Kansas City.

Details about what led up to the shooting were not immediately available. Witnesses told investigators they saw a gold SUV leaving the scene after the shooting. Police said they do not have a suspect in custody.
